Minnesota native Judy Siebenaler moved to Cloudcroft in the 1970's. Judy says that " being an artist is an integral part of who I am". She is well
known in the village by her alias, Judy Garland. During the holidays, along with some darn hard working elves, she decorates
the village with live garlands. One season she added up just how much garland they made & it was over a 1/2 mile! Add "Wild Land
Fire Dispatching" for the National Park Service & fire wood sales & she's one busy woman!!
Judy has always had an affinity for bold rich colors. Her work is both soul feeding & joyful. For her prints, she employs
hand made papers from all over the world made from botanicals with wonderful fibers & bright colors. She designs & hand
carves her own linoleum blocks. Her pottery is both functional and decorative (aka; dysfunctional). Art imitating life!!
Her mono (one of a kind) prints and her pottery are embellished with stones and metal. That combination really speaks to
her! The latest addition to her pieces is "up cycled and repurposed" old rusty treasures. Look close and see metal Jello
molds in a whole new role! Crosses, wine glasses, bird houses, wall flowers, bird feeders, journals, candle holders, &
matted and framed prints are just some of what consists of her body of work. A teacher once told her that "she had to focus
on one medium". That's probably what motivated her passion for such diversity in her art and her life!
